Green Business Ingenuity

New Orleans is home to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs who drive innovation and create jobs. As an initiative of the Urban Conservancy, at StayLocal we’ve witnessed the power of local ideas fostering economic growth time and again. From green infrastructure companies to biodegradable products, our local businesses not only meet market demands but also champion sustainability.

Together with our partners at GREEN Hospitality, StayLocal is empowering businesses as part of our 2024 Small Business Sustainability Accelerator. The accelerator supports business owners working toward a greener future, and emphasizes the role that independent business owners play as initiators of change in our communities.

Loyal + Local = Lagniappe Coin

Dirty Coast’s Lagniappe Coin is a distinctive, sustainable, reusable metal coin-like keychain that offers loyalty rewards to the holder. Similar to, but heavier than, a Mardi Gras doubloon, it allows the coin holder 10% off --or its equivalent--at local businesses throughout the GNO. See the list of where you redeem coins for discounts here.

Lagniappe Coin cannot be purchased and any coin-carrying member is bestowed it at the discretion of the participating business. Tips on getting one: wear anything Dirty Coast you have whenever you can!

Business owners interested in becoming a part of this Dirty Coast partnership and honoring Lagniappe Coin at your business will receive support from Dirty Coast on their website, at special events, and through the printed material Dirty Coast has designed, including the Lagniappe Coin keychains.

Access Road Work Updates

Great news! The City of New Orleans has secured billions of dollars for infrastructure improvements citywide, including along key business corridors.

As a community, we understand the long-term benefit that these improvements have for residents and businesses. StayLocal has partnered with the Mayor’s Office of Community Development and RoadWork NOLA to provide support to businesses for any short-term impact which may experienced while roads are improved.

Find out how to sign up for regular text alerts to receive construction updates and view StayLocal’s online Road Construction Resources for Businesses here.
