Join Your New Orleans communiTY AS WE SHOP, DINE and celebrate in NOVEMBER & December

 

From your favorite restaurant for Friday night dinner, to the bookstore that always delivers on binge-worthy reads, to the boutique with perfect gifts, New Orleans’ shops and restaurants are what helps make us so unique. That’s why StayLocal and its member businesses are putting out the call to support local this holiday season.

Small business drives economic growth. Louisiana-wide, approximately 511,235 small businesses make up 99.5% of all businesses in the state. As consumers, every dollar spent at a locally owned, independent business returns 2-3 times more dollars back into our community, compared with a dollar spent at an out of state chain store. These dollars recirculate through the local economy, creating opportunity and building community wealth.

StayLocal has come up with a quick way to take three simple steps to keep your holiday shopping local. Our Shop Local Bingo! card is a 3-square game designed to inspire creative ways to buy local gifts, try locally made products, enjoy local cafes and restaurants, and head to the pop-ups and markets listed on our calendar of holiday events.

Be sure that the money you spend this holiday season recirculates in our the local economy, where it providing a second and third opportunity for local benefit. Take your first, second and third step toward strengthening the local economy this year: play Shop Local Bingo!

  • Take a look at our holiday map of participating businesses. Many are offering deals, events, or specially selected products as part of our Bingo! game. They’re where you need to go to pick up a Bingo! card.

  • Take as long as you need to submit your card; the last day to send a picture of it (by text to 504-252-1259) is December 24th, but the earlier you complete your Bingo! the more chances you have to win one of three prize packages (described below) that we’ll award throughout December.

  • We’ll call you to confirm your submission, and again if you are a winner, but be sure to follow StayLocal on Instagram for all the updates.
