Welcome to B.Alert, StayLocal’s Disaster Response Communication System

Welcome to the B.Alert, our disaster response communication system. Expect to receive B.Alert texts only when needed from the StayLocal team-- Maryann, Matthew or Dana-- from the phone number (504) 226-7500.

StayLocal has developed this as a disaster response communication tool, so expect spans of inactivity on the text channel when disaster preparation or response is not required. (The more spans of inactivity, the better!) And, opting out will be easy to do by text once the tool is active, if you find it is not the tool for you.

In response to input from our constituents, New Orleans' local business owners, StayLocal launched this service for local business owners as a way to improve resource-sharing during hurricane threats and recovery. We see it as a way to improve on what we always do when disruptions arise; that is, to share important information with the New Orleans community when "business as usual" is not possible, in order to get us all up and running again as quickly as possible.

The two-way texting system will enable business owners to receive and share important information about revised hours of operation or location, goods and services they can provide to sheltering citizens, and avenues for business owners to collaborate to improve reopening times and share resources in other ways.

Depending on your phone service carrier, message and data rates may apply. We operate the messaging system on Twilio, a superior cloud-based communications management tool.

Now is the time to share this info with other business owners you know! Share this link with business owners and we'll welcome them via email when they sign up.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this system. Thank you.
